EUROHOCKEY 2020, NEW FORMULA AND TERMS OF INSCRIPTIONS

The 54th European Senior Men’s Championship will take place in La Roche sur Yon (FR) from 18 to 25 July 2020.

According to the classification made at the last European Championship in La Coruna 2018 they are entitled to register all the countries ranked and placed in Group A and B of the European Championship 2020. They are also entitled to register all nations that have not participated in the 2018 European Championship in La Coruna but will submit an official application.

With regard to the organizational needs of the competition and the communication needs associated with it, it is necessary that the Federations immediately register for the competition and in any case no later than 31 January 2020 (form must be sent to president@wseurope-rinkhockey.org and secretarygeneral@wseurope-rinkhockey.org) The registrations received will form the basis for the realization of the complete schedule that will be officialized no later than 15 February 2020 in order to allow all Federations and all media communication and local organization to produce the necessary acts as a result. Finally, by 15 May 2020, the registered federations must communicate the list of athletes, executives, technicians who will participate in the European Senior Men’s Championship. It should be noted that the Federations will still have the opportunity to make any changes to the list submitted in May 2020 for their technical reasons until the day before the meeting of delegates scheduled for the start of the competition.

The participating national teams are divided into 2 distinct groups, according to the classifications finals obtained during the previous edition of this same competition. The two groups will be scheduled with an “all against all” indicatively from July, 18 to July, 23, without prejudice to the choices of the organizers for the initial game.
GROUP A: SPAIN, PORTUGAL, ITALY, FRANCE, SWITZERLAND, ANDORRA
GROUP B: GERMANY, ENGLAND, AUSTRIA, THE NETHERLANDS, BELGIUM, ISRAEL 
After the “regular phase”, the “elimination” phase before with the semifinals and then the finals (indicatively July, 24 and 25), divided into three “levels”.
a) The first four teams classified in the Group A will join the semifinals and finals for the medals
b) the fifth and sixth classified of Group A and the first and second of Group B will join the semifinals and finals for determinating the final standing and also the two teams that will join the Group A in EuroHockey 2022
c) the other teams will join the semifinals and finals for determinating the other positions from 9th to 12th position.

The object of information to the World Skate-RHTC, taking into account the definition groups to be formed in the 2021 World Games and used by the definition of Groups A and B of the European Championship that will take place in 2022. Further information will be communicated in the coming weeks.
