Following the release of the Official Communication 62 / 2020-2021, of July 4, 2021, for applications to the performance of the Continental Cup game in the formula in use (Final Four), with an end date for submission of application until the end of July 31, 2021, and no candidate has been submitted, it was annulled according to Official Communiqué 01 / 2021-2022, of August 7, 2021.
Later was presented by the club Club Esportiu Lleida Llista Blava, a proposal for the realization of this competition, in another Final type which consists of playing a single match between the two champions of the two competitions (Euroleague champion versus WS Europe Cup champion).
After analyzing the proposal, which is based on the conditions of the Official Communication 62 / 2020-2021, the WSERH Committee has confirmed it, with acceptance by new conditions by the two clubs concerned (Club Esportiu Lleida Llista Blava and Sporting Club de Portugal)
The competition is reopened and maintained, exceptionally, because in view of the still pandemic period and difficulties at various levels, but as the main effort of all, the objective is to maintain the sports competitions.
The Continental Cup Final will be played Saturday 18th September 2021 at 19:00 (local time) in the arena of “Pavelló Poliesportiu 11 de setembre” in Mollerussa (Spain), near Lleida.
