53rd European Championship is ready to start in A Coruna in northwest of Spain. It will be the first time in history from 1926 that La Coruna and Galician Region (A Coruna in local language) will host an European Championship. It is the third time in 10 years that the EuroHockey will be played in Spain: 1 won the host team (2018), 1 won Italy (2014). After the dramatic victory of Spain in overtime golden goal in World Roller Games in Nanjing about 1 year ago against the Portugal, the “Red Furies” wants to return to win after 6 years (last victory of Portugal in Azemeis in 2016). Portugal and Italy are the national teams with more chances to beat the spanish team. Since 1939, the three big national teams won all the eurohockey, after the initial victory in the history of England.
Eleven teams will fight for the european championship with the important return of Belgium, Netherlands and Andorra. 10 days at Palacio de los Deportes Riazor, 6 matches each day, total 40 matches. 5000 seats around the parquet rink 20×40 metres. • AT 11H30: CLARIFICATION MEETING WITH THE TEAM DELEGATES AND THE DESIGNATED ARBITRATORS
Clarification of the procedures to be followed at official ceremonies and during the competition (preventive tie breakers prolongations and penalties), as well as clarification of matters related to the Rules of the Game, the model of competition and/or any other matters the Federations wish to be clarified.
• AT 12H00: PRESENTATION AND DELIVERY OF THE OFFICIAL BALL OF THE EUROPEAN COMPETITIONS
Presentation of the new sponsor– “SWIFT SPORTS” – of the official rink-hockey balls to be used in the European competitions during the 2018/2019 and 2019/2020 sporting seasons, followed by the delivery of a set of those balls to the Delegates of the participant National Federations
• AT 12H30: PRESENTATION AND DELIVERY OF THE OFFICIAL BALL OF THE EUROPEAN COMPETITIONS
CERS-RH will hold a Press Conference with the Coaches of all the participating national teams.
On Saturday, 2018 July 21, at 15H00, at the Riazor Pavilion, the CERS-RH Executive Committee will hold a meeting with the members of the Refereeing Commission, subjected to the following agenda:
• Analysis of the Referees performance in the 2017/2018 sporting season;
• Analysis of the WORLD SKATES-RHTC proposal to change the Rules of the Game + Technical Regulation
