The last day of the European Youth Review ends with one victory each. Spain clearly won the Under-17 title, while Portugal won the second half in the Under-19 category. A really intense show in the new Paredes facility that allowed us to witness a last vibrant and exciting final, where Spain had started better but was surprised by the return of the hosts. Vaz’s Portugal picked up the pace in the second half by finding Lucas Honorio Santos’ three goals and Sanches’ goal (final 4-1). Second place for Macià’s Spain and third for Alessandro Bertolucci’s Italy who folded in the second half an excellent England of Carlos Amaral for 5-4. For Portugal is the seventh title in last eight editions.
Carlos Cortijo’s Under-17s won their third consecutive title, beating Portugal 8-3 in a match dominated in all departments. In second place is Nuno Ferrao’s Portugal and Massimo Giudice’s Italy is third. In fourth place the France of Fabien Savreuz, defeated 5-3 in the direct challenge against the Italians. In fifth place the England of Carlos Amaral who beat 3-1 the Andorra of Miquel Umbert. For Spain is the third consecutive title in a row.
